Fruits at 4-7 years old, mature trees are likely freeze tolerant to the low 20's The fruit of this jaboticaba is similar to red jaboticaba but with thicker skin.  The outstanding 10/10 flavor is that of Fruit Loops cereal however the foilage and upright growth pattern is notably more beautiful than red jaboticaba.  One defining characteristic is that the rubbery textured skin often has sharp little prickly points sticking out of the skin up to 2mm with up to 20 per fruit.  It bears a few times per year after 2-5 years of fruiting if kept irrigated and fertilized.  Needs daily watering and pH <7.5 either by water, soil, or amendments.  Perfect for container culture.  The pulp is 50% of the weight.  Brix ranged from 14-16 for a sample of fruit thought to be picked while ripe.
